Passengers traveling with China Airlines can Check-in conveniently with the check-in options provided as below:

Online Check-in

The online e-Check-In service helps you save time at the airport. You can check in via the Internet between 1.5 - 48 hours before your departure. After completing your check-in, you will have the option to choose your seat. At airports where this service is available, you can either print your boarding pass or use the mobile boarding pass service. This provides a streamlined process with added features to help you save time at the airport.

Kiosk Check-in

China Airlines offers self check-in services at several airports, allowing you to conveniently obtain your boarding pass or baggage tag from the airport check-in kiosk. The self check-in kiosk allows you to quickly check in for your international flight using your passport and choose your seat. You can also check in other passengers who are included in your booking.

Airport Check-in

Be sure to allow enough time to complete check-in and any required security, immigration, and/or customs procedures. The operating hours for China Airlines check-in counters and the time needed for pre-boarding procedures can vary by airport.

At a minimum, China Airlines recommends that you check in one hour before your scheduled departure time for international flights. However, at larger, busier airports with strict procedures, such as those in the U.S., it may be necessary to arrive three hours in advance. If you are a passenger with special needs or requirements, such as an unaccompanied minor, disabled, deaf, blind, or using a wheelchair or walker, it is recommended that you check in at least two hours before your scheduled departure.

It is crucial to check in on time, as your seat may be released, and you could be denied boarding if you are late. Passengers traveling internationally should be at the gate at least 30 minutes before departure.

Please verify the operating hours and recommended check-in times for the airport you are departing from by contacting the China Airlines Airport Office.

Remark

Please note that from June 15, 2018, the check-in counters for all CI/AE flights (except for CI/AE code-share flights operated by other partner carriers) and IT129/CI8609 international flights at Taoyuan International Airport will close 60 minutes prior to departure.

Passengers with a seat reservation will have their seats released 80 minutes before departure.

In-Town Check-in

The Taoyuan Airport MRT Line offers In-Town Check-in services at Taipei Main Station (referred to as "A1 Station")! Passengers can check in and drop off baggage at Taipei Main Station (A1 Station) ahead of time, allowing them to enjoy sightseeing, shopping, and business meetings before heading to the airport.

This service not only reduces the time spent queuing and waiting at the airport but also enables you to plan and manage your itinerary more effectively.

These policies may differ, however, so you should check with China Airlines for its timings, rules and procedure that may apply during check-in.
