Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (JAL) (日本航空株式会社 Nihon Kōkū Kabushiki-gaisha), also
referred to as Nikkō (日航), is an international airline and the national carrier
of Japan, based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan.
The airline's primary hubs include Narita International Airport and Tokyo
International Airport (Haneda), as well as Osaka's Kansai International Airport
and Osaka International Airport (Itami).
JAL Group companies encompass
Japan Airlines, J-Air, JAL Express, Japan Air Commuter, Japan Transocean Air,
Hokkaido Air System, and Ryukyu Air Commuter, which provide domestic feeder
services, along with JAL Cargo, which handles cargo and mail operations.
As of December 2024, the JAL Group operates a comprehensive network of
scheduled and chartered international and domestic passenger and cargo
services, covering 220 destinations across 35 countries globally, including
codeshare agreements. JAL has been a member of the Oneworld® alliance since
2007. JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) is the airline’s frequent flyer program, offering
members the opportunity to earn miles through flights, hotel stays, dining, and
more.
