Korean Air » Unaccompanied Minors Policy
Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be
Unaccompanied Minors. If you are allowing your child to fly alone as an
unaccompanied minor, be sure to take every necessary precaution to ensure his or
her safety.
Children Aged 5 to 12 Years Traveling Unaccompanied
Children between the ages of 5 and 12, traveling without a passenger over 13
years old, are allowed to fly with Korean Air on domestic routes.
For International Flights,
Children aged 5 to 11 years
traveling alone are subject to the following conditions:
If the
accompanying person is under 18.
If the accompanying adult is not in the
same cabin class.
Children aged 12 to 16 years traveling alone is
optional.
Service Charges for Children Aged 5 to 12 Years on
Domestic Flights
Service charges for children aged 5 to 12 years
are priced as the regular adult fare for domestic flights.
Service Charges for International Flights
Children Aged
5 to 11 Years:
Standard adult fare + KRW 150,000 per segment (USD
150, CAD 150, and IDR 2,140,000 for flights departing from the US, Canada, and
Indonesia, respectively) or 15,000 miles.
Children Aged 12 to 16
Years:
Standard adult fare + KRW 200,000 per segment (USD 200, CAD
200, and IDR 2,860,000 for flights departing from the US, Canada, and Indonesia,
respectively) or 20,000 miles.
Please request this service via the Korean
Air Service Center at least 24 hours before departure and verify the service.
You will be required to provide appropriate identification and contact
details for the parent/guardian at both the departure and arrival locations.
Korean Air personnel will accompany your unaccompanied child from the point
of departure to their destination, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey
throughout.
These policies may differ, however, so you should check with Korean Air for a description of its rules and services and any additional
charges that may apply.
